OUR STORY
The Weary Dunlop Club was established in 2001 to bring together Victoria’s rugby community and support the growth of grassroots rugby. Named in honour of Sir Edward “Weary” Dunlop, the Club draws inspiration from the qualities that defined his extraordinary life — leadership, service, courage, education and community.
As Australia looks toward Rugby World Cup 2027, the Weary Dunlop Club enters a new chapter. A place to reconnect the Victorian rugby community. To celebrate its history. To support its future. And to bring together players, clubs, schools, supporters, business and friends of the game.

Rugby World Cup 2027 presents a once-in-a-generation opportunity for Australian rugby. For Victoria, it is an opportunity to reconnect the rugby community, celebrate our history and introduce a new generation to the game.
The Weary Dunlop Club will use the journey to 2027 as a platform for events, partnerships, fundraising, storytelling and experiences that bring Victorian rugby together.
